The sheer number of suits available is staggering, and It's exciting to see what a new mobile suit does- sometimes you end up discovering a new favourite. I had it constantly on hard mode for the whole campaign on my first playthrough and very, very rarely hit any kind of a difficulty spike. The game was absurdly easy (for me, anyway). You can get a bunch of pilots/suits unlocked by playing official campaigns, but some are only available in ultimate mode. You have to first unlock their usual pilot as a playable character, then use the respective suit a set number of times before its universally available. Unlocking all your favourite mobile suits is a bit of a pain. A lot of the units just stand around- that goes for friendly and enemy units. Often, of the hundreds of mobile suits on the field, only some of them are in any way active.
